The wines from Clos du Roi have a softer character with gentler tannins than those of its neighbors. It is therefore ready to drink earlier. Chanson owns approximately 35% of the area in Clos du Roi and is thus the most important bottler in this Cru. Two thirds of Chanson's parcels are planted with Pinot Noir. This Premier Cru takes its name from King Louis XI, who once owned
