Traffic on the Road Building During a visit to Missoula

During a visit to Missoula in 2009 I headed up to Lolo Pass on the Montana/Idaho state line along Route 12 with a small group of photographers/friends to capture some of the morning light

As the night settled in I captured the quiet winter evening in the park which is quite different then being there in the summer

however with the nice contrast a change to black and white worked even better for this result

From my position the sun was behind the stacks thus I opted to get creative with my image

I sort of laughed to myself as it does have a little similarity to the image Winter in Washington Park which I have photographed a few times before as well

Traffic on the Road Building During a visit to MissoulaCrossing the bridge over C470 towards Green Mountain I found a gap in the fencing which allowed me to photograph the traffic passing by my location. Using an angle I worked to capture the traffic in both directions as well as the divider between the flow of traffic. It didn't take long for enough traffic to pass my location to get the many different lines in the image.
