Many of the wildflowers in the area were starting to peak which made a nice hike even more memorable

Instead of bringing in the surrounding park

When you zoom into the detail it starts to tell a different story then just part of the building which is protecting the interior

Mendenhall Lake and Glacier Building During late September of 2006Mendenhall Glacier is located north of downtown Juneau in an area referred to as the valley. As the glacier slowly recedes the lake is forming and started to do so in 1931. If you follow the glacier up it will run into the Juneau Ice Field which is currently the 5th largest in North America.
