The Bothy (Bothy is a small hut or cottage originally for farm laborers - now hikers) is a cask strength whisky that has spent 7 years maturing in ex-Bourbon casks and then for a further 2 years in 125L American Oak 'Quarter' casks

A little time in the glass brings forward notes of crme brle with spiced cream. The palate is muscular, reminding us of Glen Elgins traditional worm tubs, while a perfect balance of fruit and oak waltz over the tongue. With characterful liquid like this, its hard to fathom why Glen Elgin isnt one of the biggest names in Scotch whisky.
