there are no chips or flaws to the mother of pearl plaque

then bits of gold showing with the black

Antique Portrait Miniature, a French Revolution Military Officer, Bronze Frame ring A most stunning set hereA spectacular hand painted portrait miniature, dated late 1700s to early 1800s, a French Revolutionary to perhaps Napoleonic Era soldier or officer, looking at the uniform, though I can't ID him and the painting is unsigned. Beautifully painted, the small bodied man's face is a true work of portraiture art. Just look at that detail and visage.
