S. military during WWII, primarily for tank gunners, such as in the M4 Sherman. The optics on this lens is quite dirty, and could use a good cleaning. The dial to toggle between clear, neutral, and amber filters works as it should. The olive drab finish on this piece is very good. This elbow is very well marked. What a great conversation piece.
