The brown wooden handle has toned to a nice warm brown color with nice wood graining showing. The nickel silver eagle and the enameled SA runic button are very good. The eagle has a shine to it that is quite handsome. The enamel on the SA button is intact, and very clear. The button is excellent. Both the eagle and button are a tight fit to the
