You have to look twice to figure out what is natural vs manufactured in this landscape

and unifies the painting despite the inherent contrast between orange and purple

those "gentle giant" trees that survive year after year

SOLD - Into the Woods, 2024 (12x12") Start againInspired by the Old Growth forests, which stretch down the Pacific coast from BC in the north to California in the south. I wanted to capture the amazing feeling of being in the presence of these ancient giants. The greens and blues, the filtered light, the giant trees: the landscape elements all come together to create a sense of awe. Mixed media: acrylic and latex paints, liquid asphalt (rubberized).
