Shaker lockets were deep enough to be filled with gemstones which would 'shake' when the wearer walked, thus earning their name. This shaker locket is deep enough to hold pressed flowers, photos, or gemstones and the glass is in excellent antique condition with only light microscratches, consistent with age.
